70% of Vietnamese Volunteers Injected with COVID-19 Vaccine Have Side Effects

As many as 70% of the total 31 Vietnamese volunteers injected with the first homegrown coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) vaccine have had side effects, like light fever and pain, a representative from Vietnam Military Medical Academy said. These cases had light fevers ranging from 37.1 degrees Celsius to 37.8 degrees Celsius and had light pains from one to two hours after injection, but all the side effects went away after 24 hours, the representative added. Earlier on December 17, Pharmaceutical Biotechnology JSC (Nanogen), one of the four local COVID-19 vaccine producers, injected its COVID-19 vaccine or Nanocovax on volunteers. The firm said that the target of the first-phase clinical test is to evaluate the safety of the vaccine. Nanogen said that its COVID-19 vaccine would be accessible in mid-2021 at VND240,000 ($10.34) for a two-shot regiment. (VietnamNet, VietnamNet)
