90% of Vietnamese Women Have Gynecological Diseases: Health Ministry

As many as 90% of the total Vietnamese women of reproductive age from 15 to 49 years old suffered from gynecological diseases at least once in their life, the Ministry of Health said in its latest statistics.

For every 100 women infected, 11 are re-infected many times.

The number of cases of gynecological diseases increases from 15% to 27% annually in Vietnam, in which women with knowledge and stable income account for over 70%, the ministry added.

The disease occurs to not only married women but also young women who have never had sex, the ministry noted.

Up to 60% of women who have been suffering from gynecological diseases feel shy and do not go for regular gynecological examinations, and 35% of patients may develop serious complications. (Tuoi Tre, NLD, VietnamNet, Kinh Te Do Thi)
