ADB to Finance $43.5M for Infras-Climate Change Proj in Vietnam Quang Tri

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) will finance $43.5 million for a project on developing infrastructure in response to climate change in ethnic regions in Vietnam’s central province of Quang Tri, state media reported. The information was revealed at a meeting in Quang Tri on August 7 between officials of the National Assembly’s Committee for Ethnic Affairs, the Ministry of Planning and Investment, ADB, and leaders of the province. The preparations for the project will be carried out in 2019-2020 for implementation in 2021-2025. The project is expected to benefit four districts namely Huong Hoa, Dakrong, Gio Linh, and Vinh Linh. The project aims to build and upgrade transport infrastructure, improve locals’ resilience to climate change, and provide clean water to villages. (Dau Tu, baoquangtri, quangtri, quangtritv)
