ADB Funds VND14.3B to Build Disaster-resistant Houses in Vietnam Quang Tri

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has funded over VND14.3 billion ($616,379) to help Vietnam’s central province of Quang Tri build disaster-proof houses for 106 local households, state media reported. The families are poor, near-poor, and disadvantaged households affected by natural disasters from districts of Huong Hoa, Da Krong, Cam Lo, Gio Linh, and Vinh Linh. These constructions are expected to be finished before May 24, said Mr. Le Quang Lam, chief of office of Quang Tri’s Command for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control. According to the survey, natural disasters in late-2020 caused 55 deaths and missing, 46 injures, affecting over 112,000 houses in Quang Tri province.
