Bach Mai Hospital Opens Vietnam's First ECMO Simulation Room
On April 25, Hanoi-based Bach Mai Hospital inaugurated an Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) simulation room, the first of its kind in Vietnam, to train doctors in mastering this technique, local media reported.
Addressing the launching ceremony, Associate Professor Dr. Dao Xuan Co, director of Bach Mai Hospital, affirmed that the opening of the ECMO simulation room is a new step in Bach Mai Hospital's simulation training.
Bach Mai Hospital is one of the first medical facilities in Vietnam to treat patients with ECMO. After more than 15 years of implementation, ECMO technology has become a routine procedure at the Intensive Care Center of Bach Mai Hospital.
Statistics showed that in 2023, the Intensive Care Center of Bach Mai Hospital deployed ECMO and saved the lives of 118 patients.
