B.Braun Plans to Build Kidney Dialysis Center in Vietnam Capital City

Germany’s B. Braun Melsungen AG, one of the world’s top manufacturers and suppliers of health and pharmaceutical products, plans to set up a kidney dialysis center in Vietnam’s capital city of Hanoi. The center will be a foundation for B. Braun to enhance its prestige, for the non-profit saket, a representative of the group said at a working session with authorities of Hanoi on March 18. This is considered good news for Vietnam, where there are about 100,000 people suffering from kidney failure, only 10,000 of whom getting kidney dialysis. In Hanoi, there is only one hospital treating renal failure. Currently, B.Braun has a large number of kidney dialysis centers over the world, including 50 ones in Asia. It has a plan to invest an additional $50 million in producing medical equipment at Thanh Oai Industrial Park in Hanoi, bringing the total investment to $100 million. At the meeting, Hanoi’s Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc said the city is considering providing two hectares of land at the park to the group so that it can carry out the plan. The capital city encourages companies to invest in community health care to help ease the overload in hospitals and to improve medical service quality, she added.
