Civil Society Organizations Grants (CSO Grants) from UN-ACT

The United Nations Action for Cooperation against Trafficking in Persons (UN-ACT) is a 5-year regional project aimed at supporting the governments and the anti-trafficking community in Southeast Asia in their efforts to fight trafficking in persons. The project’s principal goal is to ensure a coordinated approach to more strategically and effectively combat trafficking in persons in the region. UN-ACT is managed by the United Nations Development Programme’s Asia-Pacific Regional Centre (UNDP APRC).

UN-ACT aims to support policy and operational responses to human trafficking within the Greater Mekong Sub-region (GMS: Cambodia, China, Lao PDR, Myanmar, Thailand and Viet Nam), in collaboration with the GMS governments and civil society partners. UN-ACT’s capacity to liaise with governments and non-governmental organizations, both centrally and at the local level, enables it to translate what takes place at the policy level into effective action on the ground and vice versa, thereby ensuring that policies are informed by realities.

This call for proposals places a priority on support to direct services provided in a sustainable manner by organizations with the interest and ability to work in and further develop referral networks, engaging all appropriate community resources, to address the needs of victims of all forms of human trafficking[1]. A further priority will be to demonstrate effective responses to human trafficking patterns in specific areas.

UN-ACT will provide grants of up to US$30,000 to non-government organizations with legal status to fund pilot research projects, programmatic interventions, or a combination of the two, for a duration of up to 24 months.  Priority will be given to organizations that can demonstrate cost effectiveness and sustainability of the proposed project activities
