Competitions Help Vocational Schools Improve Training
Because of increasingly stricter requirements for skilled workers, many vocational schools have paid heed to improving training via greater participation in skills competitions. These contests offer a playing field for students to show their skills and encourage them to try their best for further development. Nguy?n V?n H?, student at College of Urban Works Construction, is one of the two securing a gold medal at the ASEAN Skills Competition. The achievement gives an impetus to the path H? has chosen for his future. Being aware of the significance of skills competitions, many vocational schools have carefully selected contestants and their trainers. To date, Vietnam’s team has ranked first at ASEAN skills competitions for three times. At the recent 43rd World Skills Competition, Vietnam has pocketed a medal for the first time. Obviously, Vietnamese workers have proved that their skills were not poorer than their regional counterparts’.
