Da Nang Border Guards Assist Poor Households

Da Nang Border Guard Command’s troops have raised nearly VND 130 million for 20 poor households in the locality since the beginning of this year. The money was used to buy cattle and production tools, such as motorbikes, mobile canteens, sewing machines, and rice vermicelli making equipment. On July 11th, Hai Van Border Post and Reconnaissance Office of the Da Nang Border Guard Command presented a coffee stall, worth VND6 million, to the family of Lai Tan Het in Hoa Khanh Bac ward, Lien Chieu district. This is the 20th poor household receiving assistance to date under the program in response to Da Nang Municipal Party Committee’s Instruction 24 on “Joining hands to help families living in poor conditions, troubled teenagers and dropouts in Da Nang city”. Apart from the above assistance, the command has teamed up with the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city to hold charity campaigns to present 356 gifts, worth VND 106 million, to poor Co Tu ethnic households in Hoa Vang district.
