Denmark to Grant $700,000 to Fine Arts Edu in Vietnam in 2011-2015

The Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training and Embassy of Denmark on Dec 14 signed a $700,000 agreement on supporting fine arts education at Vietnam’s primary schools in the 2011-2015 period. This is the second stage of the project funded by the Danish Government between 2006 and 2015, the Tin Tuc newspaper reported Dec 15. Following the success of the first-stage project in 2006-2010, the second stage aims to popularize new teaching methods for the fine arts subject at primary schools nationwide as well as provide training for teachers. Since 2006, the project had helped Thai Nguyen Pedagogical College and the National University of Art Education improve teaching capacity. Vietnam and Denmark early this month signed an agreement to boost bilateral education cooperation in years to come. The countries are carrying out a joint education program which was launched in September, 2010, under which, annually around 80 Vietnamese students will study on the Danish Bachelor Degree Program in Financial Management and Services.
