Diabetes Cases in Vietnam May Alarmingly Reach 6.3M in 2030: MoH

Vietnam is expected to alarmingly record 6.3 million diabetes cases in 2045, up 78.5% from 3.53 million cases in 2017, Prof. Dr. Tran Huu Dang, chairman of Vietnam Association of Diabetes and Endocrinology cited the Ministry of Health as saying. Mr. Dang gave the information at a meeting on diabetes prevention and control in central Thanh Hoa province on November 13, urging people to learn about diabetes for proper prevention. Addressing the event, the World Health Organization (WHO) Representative in Vietnam Kidong Park gave warning of the increase of diabetes cases globally, stressing the disease as one of the great challenges of the health sector in this century.
