EU Warns Vietnam’s Cinnamon, Chili Products over Food Safety Violations
Some countries of the European Union (EU) have issued warnings regarding Vietnamese cinnamon and chili products over food safety violations, local media reported.
The Vietnam Pepper and Spices Association (VPSA) received a notification from the Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed highlighting that plant-based export products from Vietnam did not meet EU food safety standards. The EU’s regulations require strict checks for pesticide residues, preservatives, and other additives.
The VPSA requested businesses to conduct regular product analyses and inspections to ensure compliance with these regulations and focus on quality control before exporting their products to prevent future violations and maintain market access. (Cong Thuong)
