European Investment Bank Ready to Support Vietnam’s Energy Transition

The European Investment Bank (EIB) is committed to supporting Vietnam with resources, technology, and policy experts to implement just energy transition, affirmed EIB Vice Chairman Kris Peeters.

The vice executive made the statement while meeting Vietnamese Minister of Natural Recourses and Environment Dang Quoc Khanh late last week.

Welcoming the EIB’s support for Vietnam over time, Minister Khanh shared that Vietnam needs a huge financial source to realize its net-zero emission goal by 2050.

The ministry is devising a plan to mobilize resources for the Just Energy Transition Partnership (JETP) execution, Mr. Khanh said, hoping that the EIB would accompany Vietnam in this regard.

He also proposed the bank further promote investment in Vietnam’s environment and climate. (Bao Tai Nguyen Moi Truong, MONRE)
