Experts Advise Firms in Vietnam to Reduce Carbon Content in Products
Experts have advised businesses in a recent green transformation and finance forum in Hanoi to reduce carbon content per unit of product to raise the competitiveness of Vietnamese goods in the world market, local media reported.
The forum, co-held by the Business Council for Sustainable Development of Vietnam, the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), aimed to advance the objective of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050.
Addressing the event, Mr. Fukuda Koji, Chief Advisor of the “Support for Planning and Implementation of the Nationally Determined Contributions in Vietnam (SPI-NDC)” project, recommended enterprises in Vietnam take proactive measures to enhance their understanding of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) practices and sustainable development to promote their ability to access capital opportunities.
Besides, representatives from Coca-Cola Vietnam, VinBus, Daikin Vietnam, and Insee Vietnam appreciated the government’s significant efforts to create a favorable policy environment with specific regulations on greenhouse gas emissions.
