First Singapore Standard Hospital Opens in Vietnam

Hanh Phuc International Women & Children Hospital, the first Singapore standard facility in Vietnam, was put into operation in the southern province of Binh Duong Jan 3 after three-year construction. The 260-sickbed hospital is managed by Thomson Medical, a leading healthcare company in Singapore, the Vietnam News Agency said Jan 5. With 200 hotel-like rooms specializing in Obstetrics, Gynaecology and Pediatrics, the facility also provides other services, including Parent Crafts Center, Fetal Assessment Unit, and Healthy Aging Program for both women and men. The hospital is expected to provide better medical services not only for the locals but also for the Laos and Cambodians as well as help ease overloads of HCM City-based ones. Vietnam now has 13,438 healthcare facilities with 200,000 sickbeds, including 1,063 public ones. (Vietnam News Jan 5 p6, sggp.org.vn Jan 3)
