France Provides EUR3B ODA for Vietnam So Far, Pledges More: Official

The French government has to date provided a total of EUR3 billion in official development assistance (ODA) for Vietnam, said Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung said. France, one of the biggest European ODA providers for Vietnam, will continue providing the development aid for the Southeast Asian nation in the coming years, Mr. Dung noted. Vietnam is one of the countries enjoying three main financial aid tools offered by France with official development assistance from treasury, concessional credit granted by the Agency on French Development (AFD) and assistance from the Priority Solidarity Fund (FSP). Third annual high-level economic dialogue has been opened in Hanoi. At the event, two sides agreed on the necessity of removing trade barrier and obstacles in market approaches, including the Southeast Asian nation removing its ban on French beef.
