Free Healthcare Provided for AO Victims

The Vietnam Association of Victims of Agent Orange (VAV), the Phuc Lam Medical Group, the Vietnam Military-run Telecommunications Group (Viettel) – Hanoi Branch and the 3G and More Vietnam Company have worked together to provide a free healthcare program for victims of Agent Orange. The activity aimed to mark the 54th year of the Day for Vietnamese AO Victims (August 10th, 1961 – August 10th, 2015) and the 68th year of the Day for Martyrs and Wounded Soldiers. Accordingly, 100 victims of the first and second generations were provided benefit from the program. On the occasion, the Phuc Lam International General Hospital committed to receive seriously ill patients. During the program, Lieutenant-General Hoang Chau Son, VAVA Vice President, said that to mark the Day for Vietnamese AO Victims, together with providing medical treatment and presents to AO victims, VAVA Central Committee would also increase dissemination of information about donation to share difficulties with the victims. In particular, a meeting to support the victims will be held in Ho Chi Minh city on August 2nd which is expected to attract 10,000 participants. Furthermore, a program on sending messages supporting AO victims will also be organised from August to early September. Since the beginning of this year, organizations, enterprises and individuals have donated up to VND120 billion to assist the lives of AO victims. Over the past year, the Phuc Lam Medical Group, Viettel – Hanoi Branch and the 3G and More Vietnam Company have led in caring for beneficiaries’ families, especially AO victims.
