Hanoi Treats Lake Water to Ease Pollution

Hanoi Sewage and Drainage Co., Ltd (HSDC) said that it has treated water in all lakes in urban areas and 36 out of 140 lakes in the outlying districts as of Mar 8, state media reported Friday. The company used Redoxy-3C, combined fenton-like-oxidation and iron ferrates for chemical oxidation of contaminants produced in Germany, to contaminate water, state media reported, citing HSDC’s Deputy General Director Phan Hoai Minh. Lakes become purified without stinky smell or dead aquatic organisms after the treatment, according to Mr. Minh. He said that HSDC will continue water treatment in 12 lakes on the outskirts in March.
