Health Ministry Recalls Brain Cancer Batch without Vietnamese Instructions

The Drug Administration of Vietnam (DAV) under the Ministry of Health has requested the recall of a batch of Temozolomide Ribosepharm 100 mg used to treat certain types of brain cancer due to the lack of Vietnamese-language instructions, local media reported.

This batch was manufactured on August 17, 2022, with an expiry date of August 31, 2025. The drug is produced by Germany’s Haupt Pharma Amareg GmbH and imported by Nam Linh Pharmaceuticals and Chemicals Company Limited in Ho Chi Minh City.

The batch of drugs violated regulations at level 3, said DAV Deputy Director Ta Manh Hung.

According to regulations on drug management, imported drugs in Vietnam that do not have or do not sufficiently display mandatory content in Vietnamese on the original label must have additional Vietnamese-language labels and usage instructions.
