H'mong Ethnic Group’s Traditional Tet Held in Hanoi

The “Hmong’s Festival in Town” cultural event celebrating the H'mong ethnic group’s traditional New Year will be held at Hanoi University of Culture on January 8. The H’mong ethnic group is also known as the Mong. The event aims to present the Mong’s cultural values to other ethnic groups in the country and give a chance to the Mong’s people who are studying and working in Hanoi to enjoy their traditional Tet. The event is also to share the Mong’s culture values among the Mong community and other ethnic groups and to dedicate to the Hmong students studying and working in Hanoi in hopes that they will have a meaningful traditional Tet. The event will offer visitors an opportunity to experience Tet market with the Hmong special cuisine, colorful hemp fabric clothes and many traditional games of Hmong people during festival, such as tasting local honey bee, making sticky rice cake and playing games “Yen”, “Pao”.
