India Pledges Help for Vietnam in Scientific Expert Training

India is ready to support Vietnam in the training of scientific experts, said Prof. Dr. Dinesh Abrol, President of the Indian Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR). The Indian official made the statement at a working meeting with a delegation from Vietnam’s Ministry of Science and Technology led by the ministry’s Chief Inspector Tran Minh Dung during its visit to India from August 15-25. The Vietnamese delegation also worked with officials from the CSIR’s Intellectual Property Rights Management Department, the Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion under the Indian Ministry of Commerce and Industry, the Indian National Agency for Laboratory Management and the Quality Council of India. They discussed policies on the protection of patents and intellectual property rights, and goods quality management. Dung said that the CSIR is willing to share experience with Vietnam in using open source code in the pharmaceutical sector to produce low-cost medicines for poor people as well as help Vietnam build healthcare service quality standards.
