Japan’s Youth Ambassador Program Taking Place in Vietnam on Jan 15-20

The "Youth Ambassador Program," organized by the Aeon 1% Club Foundation since 1990 in Japan and various countries aimed at strengthening mutual understanding and bonds between the youth of Japan and other nations, is taking place in Vietnam on January 15-20, local media reported.

The event followed the one in Japan on November 13-18 last year on the 50th anniversary of diplomatic ties.

On January 16, Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang met with a delegation of Vietnamese and Japanese students participating in the Youth Ambassador Program.

During the meeting, Mr. Quang emphasized the cultural similarities and historical connections as natural bonds that unite the two nations, serving as a sustainable foundation for the development of Vietnam-Japan relations.

He hoped the program to further develop, providing more opportunities for students to visit and study in both Vietnam and Japan.

Data showed that Vietnam currently has 51,000 students studying in Japan, ranking second in the number of international students in the East Asian country.

Up to now, the Youth Ambassador Program has been organized 43 times, attracting nearly 2,500 high school students from 18 participating countries, with four editions held in Vietnam.
