Japan Technology Effective in Dioxin Detoxification in Vietnam

Dioxin detoxification of Japan’s Shimizu Corporation is effective, leaves no dioxin to the air and wastewater, exposes to no human, and meets technical requirement with affordable cost and time, state media reported from a seminar on reviewing such technology. The Chemical Command of the Vietnam People’s Army and Shimizu hosted a seminar in Hanoi on December 8 to review a pilot test of such technology in Bien Hoa airbase. The event featured Deputy Minister of National Defense-Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Chi Vinh who doubles as head of the National Steering Committee on the Settlement of Post-War Unexploded Ordnance and Toxic Chemical Consequences (Steering Committee 701), and Minister Daisuke Okabe from the Embassy of Japan in Vietnam. Mr. Vinh hailed the assistance from Japan’s government and proposed further cooperation in post-war settlement, especially for victims of chemical weapons and dioxin.
