Japan, UNDP Aid Vietnamese Vulnerable Residents for COVID-19 Prevention

The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the Japanese Embassy in Vietnam on June 15 announced essential supplies for poor and vulnerable households in the central provinces of Ninh Thuan and Binh Thuan and southernmost Ca Mau province, in support of COVID-19 prevention, local media reported. This relief package includes 1,300 sets of personal protective equipment and 1,300 tanks for storage of clean water. This initiative is part of the financial support from the Japan Supplementary Budget to 11 countries in Asia and the Pacific, including Vietnam, and UNDP is responsible for technical assistance as well as delivery of the supplies.
