JBIC Should Help Vietnam in Climate Change Adaptation, Energy Transition: NA

Chairman of Vietnam’s National Assembly (NA) Vuong Dinh Hue has proposed Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) support Vietnam in climate change adaptation and energy transition, local media reported.

Mr. Hue made the proposal when receiving Governor of the JBIC Tadashi Maeda on July 22. The NA leader highly valued cooperation proposals of JBIC to Vietnam, especially in energy transition and developing renewable energy projects.

The NA chairman hoped that JBIC and its partners will help Vietnam in perfecting the regulations on climate change adaptation and energy transition.

He proposed JBIC help Vietnam in two areas, namely technical consulting in calculating suitable transition strategy and roadmap and improving Vietnam’s access to financial support packages for green energy and energy transition.

For his part, the JBIC Governor affirmed that the bank wants to cooperate and support Vietnam in energy transition, building a roadmap to approach new energy sources, and preferential loans.
