JICA Willing to Further Cooperate with Vietnam in Education: Vice Chairman
The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) stands ready to continue collaborating with Vietnam in the education and training sector, said JICA Vice Chairman Ataeda Miki.
The JICA official made the statement while meeting Vietnamese Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son on October 12, part of the latter’s trip to Japan. He also expected to realize the assistance for high school education development proposed by the Vietnamese side.
Minister Son, for his part, emphasized the significant outcomes of the education and training, and science and technology ties between Vietnam and Japan over the years. He proposed the Japanese side continue supporting Vietnamese universities by fostering coordination with Japanese peers.
The minister also desired Japan to offer doctorate-level scholarships for Vietnamese public servants and create favorable conditions to help Vietnamese teachers and educational managers join exchange and training programs in Japan.
On the same day, Minister Son held talks with Mr. Takebe Tsutomu, one of the founding members of the Vietnam-Japan University; and witnessed the signing ceremony of cooperation pacts between the Hanoi University of Science and Technology, the University of Transport and Communications, and the Japanese partners.
