Operation Smile to Conduct Free Surgeries for Facially Deformed Vietnamese Kids

The Operation Smile Vietnam is going to team with three hospitals to offer free surgeries for some 350 kids with facial deformities from June 10 to July 1 in Hanoi and Quang Ngai province, state media reported. Accordingly, on June 10 a check-up program will be held at the Military Central Hospital 108 that will perform surgeries on about 150 children-patients on June 11-17. Meanwhile, the Vietnam-Cuba Friendship Hospital will give free health check-ups for kids on June 13 before conducting surgeries on around 80 kids on June 14-17. In Quang Ngai province, some 120 kids who will have their health checked by the provincial General Hospital on June 25 will receive free surgeries by medical experts from different countries between June 27 and July 1. Other supports for children-patients will include postoperative care, follow-up examinations, phonetic therapies, travel and food expenses. (qdnd.vn June 7)
