Over 2,000 Poor Patients Given Free Medical Treatment

On February 29, the Korean Open Doctors Society and the Ho Chi Minh City Sponsoring Association for Poor Patients worked together to put on a humanitarian medical program for the poor. Over 2,000 poor people and disadvantaged students and pupils were given medical check-ups, treatment and medicine by Korean doctors. According to Mr. Go Byong Seok, President of the Korean Open Doctors Society, the program aims to bring best medical treatment and check-up services to the poor who often go without medical care due to difficult economic conditions. The Korean Open Doctors Society is a non-governmental organization that operates under the sponsorship of the Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, for community development. Since 1997, doctors from the association have provided medical treatment and free medicines to patients in diverse poor countries all over the world. During the humanitarian program, Lotte Mart Company joined with Lotte Dat Viet Homeshopping to give 2,000 presents worth over VND 200 million to poor families in Ho Chi Minh City. (cpv.org.vn Mar 1)
