Over 800 Poor Students Receive Scholarships in Mekong Delta

The Omon Gas Pipeline, Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, and the Vietnam Children’s Fund have offered more than 800 scholarships to poor and impoverished students in the Mekong Delta, who overcame great hardships to get good results in school. Each scholarship is worth VND1.2 million and the total value of the scholarships is VND3.1 billion. Earlier, the Asia-Japan International Student Scholarship Fund provided support to poor students in Can Tho City. Professor Eiichi Kawaguchi, Chairman of the Asia-Japan Fund hoped that Can Tho City would create favorable conditions so that the ‘International Speech Contest’ in Japanese could be held in the City for youth and students.
