Play Staged to Raise Funds for AO Victims

A play, “Memorial Day”, written by Brian Delate and directed by Dan Bonnel, will be staged at the Youth Theatre in Hanoi on September 20th and 21st to raise more funds for Vietnamese victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin (AO). At a press conference on September 19th, the Soldiers’ Heart Initiative, a US organization, and the Youth Theatre revealed that U.S. artist Brian Delate, a veteran of the Vietnam War, and Vietnamese People’s Artist Le Khanh, will perform this play. The play depicts the inner world of veteran Bret Westmoreland who took part in the Vietnam War, and his struggle against post-trauma disorder. Through other veterans’ stories and his own, after undergoing changes and repentance, the U.S. veteran expected the play will bring hope for both veterans and civilians. Free tickets are available at the Youth Theatre. (qdnd.vn Sept 20)
