PM Demands No Fee Collection from National High School Exam

Prime Minister (PM) Nguyen Xuan Phuc has asked localities nationwide not to collect fees from candidates participating in the national high school exam, local media reported. The PM asked the People’s Committees of provinces and cities across the country to allocate funds from the local budget to organize the 2017 national high school exam, including fees for staff and lecturers from the Ministry of Education and Training, who will organize the exam at localities. In addition, the PM asked local governments and related agencies to be actively involved in the campaigns to provide adequate information for students and their families on new points, purpose, meaning and benefits of this year’s exam, as well as difficulties that may be encountered and how to handle them. It is expected that nearly 955,000 students nationwide will participate in the national high school exam, which will be held from June 21 to June 24. Since 2015, high school graduation and university entrance exams have been combined into one national exam. The results of the national exam will be considered for both the high school graduation and university admissions. (thanhnien.vn Mar 27, laodong.com.vn Mar 28, phapluatplus.vn Mar 28)
