PM Urges Vietnam National Hospital of Pediatrics to Become Leading Medical Hub

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has urged the Vietnam National Hospital of Pediatrics to become a leading medical hub in pediatrics in the region and the world, state media reported. Speaking at a ceremony to mark the hospital’s 50th founding anniversary in Hanoi on July 13, the Prime Minister asked the hospital leaders to continue promoting innovation, dynamism, creativity, and technology application in the medical system. Mr. Phuc also presented the hospital with the Independence Order Second Class on this occasion in recognition of its achievements over the past years. Last year, the hospital received more than one million patients and provided in-patient treatment for 100,000 children. In 2012, the hospital applied the robot-used minimally invasive surgery to children for the first time in the Asian region.
