Poor Ethnic Minority People Provided With Production Land

Central Highlands provinces are focusing on providing production land, residential land and safe water supply to poor ethnic minority people who lack residential and production land, contributing to stabilizing production and gradually improving their living standards, the Central Highlands Steering Committee has reported. Accordingly, ethnic minority families who lack residential and production land will be given the land from preventive land areas, or in localities which do not have preventive land areas left, land taken from projects that are not feasible, or fallow land. In addition, Dak Lak, Dak Nong and Gia Lai provinces have determined to seize land from farms and companies that have not used the land effectively or for the right purposes to provide to poor ethnic minority people as residential and production land. According to the Central Highlands Steering Committee, over the past years, localities in the region have provided residential and production land to thousands of poor ethnic minority families. Since 2013, the region has given production and residential land to over 6,670 poor ethnic minority families, and safe water to over 57,322 ethnic minority families. At present, nearly 15,850 ethnic minority families lack residential land and over 32,000 ethnic minority families lack production land. (dangcongsan.vn Jan 26)
