Project Launched to Support Disadvantaged Children in Vietnam Coastal Localities
A VND1.1 billion-project has recently been launched to support children of disadvantaged fishermen in 18 coastal cities and provinces across Vietnam.
Under an agreement signed in Hanoi on April 16, Acecook Vietnam Joint Stock Company is providing 1.1 billion in funding to the National Fund for Vietnamese Children to carry out the project.
The project is expected to benefit nearly 170 children in Quang Ninh, Hai Phong, Thanh Hoa. Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien Hue, Danang, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh, Phu Yen, Khanh Hoa, Ninh Thuan, Binh Thuan, Ca Mau, and Kien Giang.
The project targets orphans as well as children from poor households, families of policy beneficiaries, and sea and island regions. Each child will receive 6 million VND to support their study and livelihoods.
At the launch ceremony, the organizers presented financial support to Chiu Thi Hanh, a fifth grader in Quang Ninh Province, and Dinh Xuan Bao Nam, a fourth grader in Hai Phong City, who are both children of disadvantaged fishermen.
