Public Hospitals’ Medical Fees in Vietnam to Increase on Aug 20: New Rule

The medical fees at public hospitals in Vietnam will increase from August 20 in line with the basic monthly wage hike from VND1.39 million to VND1.49 million ($59.6-$63.9), per the Ministry of Health’s Circulars 13/2019/TT-BYT and 14/2019/TT-BYT, state media reported. Accordingly, the fees for medical examination, treatment beds, and health technical services will rise by an average of 4.4% and 1.1%, respectively. The General Statistic Office forecasts this adjustment will make Vietnam’s consumer price index (CPI) in August rise by 0.2 percentage point-0.3 percentage point.
