Test Run of China-financed Elevated Railway in Hanoi Scheduled in Oct

On the construction site in Ha Dong district on Feb. 2 morning, Deputy Minister of Transport Nguyen Hong Truong said that so far 90% of construction works have been completed on the China-financed elevated railway project, saying the railway will start the trial-run in October this year. The test will prolong three to six months commencing Oct. 1, 2017 before its commercial operations in the second quarter of 2018. Deputy Minister Truong added that leaders of the Ministry of Transport will regularly collaborate with leaders of the capital city of Hanoi to timely deal with difficulties. Mr. Le Kim Thanh, general director of the project’s management board, said that so far 13.05 kilometers of main railway route has been installed, the structure of depots has been finalized and 13 trains have been built and are waiting for paperwork to be finalized to be imported into Vietnam.
