Two Vietnamese Universities Listed among Asia’s Top 150

The Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU) and the Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City (VNU-HCM) have been named among the top 150 Asian universities in the 2016 QS rankings, state media reported. VNU was ranked 139th this year, compared to 191st in 2015, while the VNU-HCM stood at the 147th, up from 201st last year. The two Vietnamese universities are ranked high for the academic and employer reputation. Can Tho University was named among the group of Asia’s 251-300 best universities. Meanwhile, Hue University and Hanoi University of Science and Technology were listed in the group of 301-350. National University of Singapore (NUS) is voted as the best in Asia. It was followed by the University of Hong Kong and Singapore’s Nanyang Technological University. The Asia 2016 QS University Rankings is a dedicated ranking of the 350 top universities in Asia. The methodology used to create the ranking is similar to that used for the QS World University Rankings. The ranking is based on criteria including academic reputation, employer reputation, faculty student, faculty staff with PhD, papers per faculty, citations per paper, international faculty, international students, inbound and outbound exchanges.
