UK-funded Program Announces 11 Low-Carbon Projs in Vietnam for 2nd Phase
The UK-funded Climate Finance Accelerator (CFA), which is part of the UK government’s efforts to support Vietnam to meet the commitments at the 26th UN Climate Change Conference (COP26), has announced 11 low-carbon projects across Vietnam for its second phase, local media said.
The projects include (i) the Apeh Viet Dan eco-friendly shrimp farming project; (ii) Babio, which produces and supplies environmentally friendly biodegradable products from green raw materials such as starch and cellulose to replace traditional plastics; (iii) Cenergy, which produces redox flow batteries and provides energy storage solutions to industrial producers; (iv) CME Biomass, which focuses on wood production for biomass energy; and (v) the Dai Viet international pharmaceutical technology.
The others are (vi) Emmay JSC and associates, which create sustainable and healthier protein sources from mushrooms and plants; (vii) Grac, which provides digital solutions for sustainable waste recycling and management; (viii) a joint venture between Lagom Vietnam and UPP! UpCycling Plastic, which focuses on recycling low-value waste; (ix) Selex smart electric vehicles; (x) TGS Tra Vinh factory’s 2.5-megawatt (MW) green hydrogen and ammonia production pilot project; and (xi) the Vietnam Food project, which applies zero-waste-oriented biotechnology to process shrimp by-products into valuable applied products.
The 11 projects are seeking a total of $436 million in funding.
