UN, Spain Earmark EUR8M for Poverty Reduction in Central Vietnam

The Spanish government and the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) have approved an aid package worth EUR7.9 million for poverty reduction in Central Vietnam. The funding is sourced from the Spanish Food Security Co-Financing Facility Trust funding, which was set up by Spain and IFAD in 2010, and will benefit the poor in the central provinces of Ha Tinh and Quang Binh. It will also be used to support rural finance and help needy families plan for market economy orientation. Over the past 15 years, the Spanish Agency for International Development has supported developing Vietnam’s rural areas via various projects with an aim to reduce poverty and improve living conditions of the locals.
