U.S. Embassy Announces 2017 Fulbright Vietnamese Scholar Program

The U.S. Embassy Hanoi on March 10 announced the 2017 Fulbright Vietnamese Scholar Program (VSP) which provides grants to Vietnamese scholars to lecture and conduct research at American institutions or universities for three months up to nine months, state media reported. Accordingly, successful applicants for this competitive, merit-based scholarship program are provided with a stipend, living expenses, health and accident insurance for the full term of the grant, and transportation to and from the U.S.. The VSP actively encourages women, minorities, and residents from all corners of the nation to apply. It is open to all candidates who qualify through open competition on the basis of academic and professional merit without regard to race, religion, gender, sexual orientation or affiliation. Established in 1946 and funded by the US Congress, the Fulbright Program aims to achieve mutual understanding through academic and cultural exchange.
