USAID-funded Proj Holds Workshop on Vietnam’s Urban Clean Energy Solutions

The Vietnam Urban Energy Security project, funded by the United States Agency for International Development, organized a two-day national workshop on clean energy solutions in cities toward net-zero in Vietnam in Nha Trang city of central Khanh Hoa province last week, local media reported.

The event aimed to raise awareness about the deployment of advanced distributed energy solutions and current and upcoming regulations and regulatory frameworks related to the development of such energy solutions; promote policy dialogue between the private sector and policymakers on advanced distributed energy, and strengthen the existing network of stakeholders operating in the advanced distributed energy sector.

USAID has provided $34.5 million to support the energy sector in Vietnam over the past five years and pledges an additional $36 million over the next five years. Through the Urban Energy Security project, USAID intends to help Vietnam address its rapidly growing energy needs. (Kinh Te Do Thi, VOV)
