Vietnam’s Capital City to Build 2nd Pediatric Hospital

Vietnam’s capital city of Hanoi is building another pediatric hospital costing VND785 billion ($35.2 million), according to the municipal Health Department, raising the total number of pediatric hospitals in the city to two to meet the healthcare demand of the city’s growing population. Of the total investment, VND200 billion will be sourced from the city budget while the rest will be raised from Hanoi’s bond fund. The grade-one hospital will have 600 medical staffs, 500 beds in five blocks, including: (1) outpatient and (2) inpatient treatment areas, (3) medical technology area, (4) general services area, and (5) administrative - logistic management area. Construction of the first phase of the hospital will be kicked off on Oct 27 in Ha Dong district. Hanoi pediatric hospital II will have completed, modern and high-quality infrastructure system in order to improve the medical services for children and reduce overload at current facilities, said Director of Hanoi Health Department Nguyen Khac Hien.
