Vietnam’s Edu Ministry Clarifies Information about Distorted Textbook Materials
Textbooks containing inappropriate contents that have gone viral on social networks are not taught at schools, Vietnam’s Ministry of Education and Training (MoET) clarified.
The ministry made the clarification after social networks spread information about some distorted contents from textbooks that received many negative public comments.
The MoET has proposed the relevant agencies investigate the information and the responsibility of organizations/individuals spreading the contents.
According to Thanh Nien newspaper, the textbook contents mentioned above are featured in some books and stories from different publishers but not imprinted in officially appraised textbooks.
In 2020, the MoET only approved three sets of textbooks per the 2018 General Education Program for circulation, including Ket noi tri thuc voi cuoc song (Connecting knowledge to life), Chan troi sang tao (Creative horizon), and Canh Dieu (Kite).
