Vietnam’s Multi-dimensional Poverty Rate in Vietnam Stands at 7.52% in 2022

Vietnam’s multi-dimensional poverty rate in 2022 was 7.52% with over 1.97 million households, the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs announced.

By region, the northern midland and mountainous region recorded the highest rate of multi-dimensional poverty at 21,92% with 701,461 households, while the southeast region saw the lowest rate of 0.34% with 15,787 families.

The country’s poverty rate was 4.03% in 2022 with close to 1.06 million households, with the northern midland and mountainous area logging the highest figure as well, with 455,271 poor units, or 14.23%.

The 2022 near-poverty rate was announced at 3.49% with 915,274 households, and the northern midland and mountainous region continued to top the country with 246,190 near-poor families, or 7.69%. (Tin Tuc, Cong Thuong)
