Vietnam Administration Warns of Forest Fire Risk at Highest Level in 12 Provinces
The Vietnam Administration of Forestry (VNFOREST), under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, has warned 12 provinces across the country of the highest risks of forest fires due to long-lasting scorching heat in the localities, state media reported. The move came after eight fires broke out at forests in the northern provinces of Son La and Dien Bien on April 18-19. The 12 localities are the northern provinces of Son La, Dien Bien, Lai Chau, the central province of Binh Dinh, Phu Yen, and Quang Binh, and the southern provinces of Dong Nai, Ba Ria-Vung Tau, Dong Thap, An Giang, Tra Vinh, and Soc Trang.
