Vietnam Aims for 500 Hi-tech Manufacturers by 2030

Vietnam has set a goal to develop 500 manufacturers of hi-tech products and 200 agricultural businesses using hi-tech applications by 2030, according to the National Program on Hi-tech Development until 2030 adopted by Vietnam’s Prime Minister. The government also aims to own 20 high technologies in the list of prioritized high technologies for investment and development in the region, then applying the hi-tech production and supplying hi-tech services for enterprises. Besides, it targets to increase the export value of high-tech products by about 60% of the total export value in the manufacturing and processing industry, and raise the proportion of hi-tech applied agricultural production value. The National Program on Hi-tech Development until 2030 was assigned to the Ministry of Science and Technology (MoST), the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT), and the Ministry of Agricultural and Rural Development (MARD) for implementation, with the fund from the state budget, and domestic and foreign organizations and individuals.
