Vietnam to Boost Education Ties with Italy, Israel

Vietnam will boost the education ties with Italy and Israel, according to separate meetings in Hanoi on May 2 between Minister of Education and Training Phung Xuan Nha and ambassadors of the two European nations. At the meeting with Italian Ambassador to Vietnam Antonio Alessandro, the two sides agreed to soon sign the cooperation deal in 2019-2022. They also negotiated a deal on recognizing the education certificates of each nation. Besides, the diplomat proposed higher cooperation in teaching Italian language at high schools and football at academies. Both officials reviewed the current cooperation, including Italy’s 45 annual scholarships for Vietnam and about 1,000 Italian students learning at Vietnam’s universities. At the meeting with Israeli Ambassador to Vietnam Nadav Eshcar, Minister Nha proposed Israel share experiences in innovation & startup, teacher training, application of modern technology, online teaching, and STEM education. Both sides also committed to soon signing an education cooperation deal for the 2020-2025 period. Both sides also discussed hosting a forum of tertiary education collaboration.
