Vietnam Danang Building Field Hospitals to Fight COVID-19

Vietnam’s central Danang City on July 30 evening ordered relevant authorities to focus on a building field hospital, stop all constructions, and purchase more medical items, in order to fight the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), state media reported. Danang City has so far locked down three hospitals, and is renovating Tien Son sports center into a field hospital for up to 2,000 people. The Ministry of Health (MoH) on the same day’s evening set up a “high command” to the COVID-19 front. The team includes 65 top leaders, experts, doctors, and others, with tasks of technical assistance, treatment, testing, and communications. The MoH on the same day analyzed relevant data and concluded that it is very likely that the infection is originated from Danang City, hence the method is to shut down the epidemic in Danang and to monitor people going from Danang to other localities. Vietnam recorded 45 new coronavirus disease (COVID-19) infections on July 31 morning, all linked to hospitals in Danang City.
