Vietnam Danang City Expects to Have Waste-to-energy Plant by Sep 2023: Official

If investors complete required documents within this week, Vietnam’s central city of Danang is expected to commission the Khanh Son waste-to-energy plant by September 2023, said Director of the municipal Department of Natural Resources and Environment To Van Hung. Mr. Hung added that after five months, 16 out of 21 investors had passed the prequalification rounds for the project. The waste treatment methods have also been chosen, including garbage classification and waste-burning and biogas-to-power technologies. The project is designed to process 1,000 tons of waste daily, which will help the city meet the target of burying less than 5% of the waste discharge as well as providing a long-term solution for the municipal waste discharge.
