Vietnam Deputy PM Approves National Strategy on Healthcare until 2030

On January 23, Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha approved the National Strategy for Protecting, Caring, and Enhancing People's Health for the period up to 2030, with a vision to 2045, local media reported.

The goal of the Strategy is to ensure that all citizens have access to quality healthcare services, live in a safe community, develop well both physically and mentally, and contribute to improving the quality of life and the human resource pool for the nation-building and protection cause.

The specific objectives of the Strategy include strengthening the prevention and control of emerging infectious diseases, improving the quality of the healthcare service supply network from central to grassroots levels, maintaining a stable replacement birth rate, developing the healthcare workforce, applying high-tech healthcare technology, and increasing the public expenditure on healthcare.

By 2045, the healthcare system is envisioned to be a modern and internationally integrated system, elevating the quality of healthcare services to the level of advanced countries in the region. It aims to meet the increasing and diverse healthcare needs of the population, achieving universal healthcare coverage.

To enhance the quality of medical examination, treatment, functional recovery, and patient satisfaction, the Strategy emphasizes improving fairness and accessibility in accessing healthcare services.
